CLASS: Factory Stock Show
PART A - OWNERSHIP: I am the third
owner of this beautiful and impressive vehicle. GNX # 254 was initially
delivered by a dealer in Hammond, IN. I purchased it from its
second owner from Madison, WI and it was delivered to me in Florida with
1,355 miles in December 2000. It currently has 8,016 on the odometer.
PART B -MOTOR: This car's motor is
original stock. As I have done with other collector cars that I have
purchased, I changed all fluids and filters due to age/time and to
better track when future maintenance is due. The battery had already
been replaced.
PART C - TRANNY: The transmission
and rear end are original stock.
PART D - SUSPENSION:
GNX # 254 was purchased by me with stock Goodyear (Gatorback) 245/50VR16
and 255/50VR16 tires. As a concern for the age of the stock tires when
driving on the roads and for collectability, at about 5,000 miles the
original wheel and tires were removed and properly stored in my garage
to prevent flat spots. Black GTA rims of the same design were installed
in their place with spacers to maintain a similar offset with new Kuhmo
Ecsta tires of the same size as the stock tires.
PART E - BODY & PAINT: The Body,
Paint, and Interior are maintained in excellent original stock
condition. The car is garaged (South Florida does not experience
freezing temperatures) and is kept covered in the garage.
The original black Buick stock floor mats have been stored and GNX logo
floor mats are used for show. Tailored GN colored seat covers preserve
the seat conditions while driven and not on display at a car shows.
PART F - PERFORMANCE : I have not
run this car on a track. It is a show car and I would hate to break
something by stressing it on a track.
PART G - OTHER: A trunk mounted, RF
(antenna) connected 6 CD changer has been installed to be able to listen
to CD's over an FM radio station (lower FM frequency range) without the
need to replace the stock radio. A wired remote control is located in
the center console for CD control. The CD player and controls can be
easily removed to return the car to stock though preserve the stock
appearance of the vehicle while still adding the ability to listen to
CD's.
The car is started weekly and A/C momentarily run to preserve gas seals
lubricated. Oil and Filter are changed every year or 1,000 miles. |
